Spotted during the Dizzee Rascal Air Max 90 launch at Nike Sportswear’s 1948 space was this enormous sculpture by UK artist Benedict Radcliffe. Commissioned by Nike, Radcliffe reworked his usual bicycle/vehicle designs into a full-scale Air Max wire piece, measuring at 3.5 meters long and perfectly reflecting the classic Air Max silhouette. Sneaker Freaker recently sat down with the artist to speak about his amazing works of art. The interview can be read here.

It’s a Destroyer. And it’ll obliterate all your preconceptions about letterman’s jackets. But what’s in a name? Back in ’06, Nike designers began a mission to re-craft iconic sports apparel in the most technical materials they could find. The ubiquitous American varsity jacket was an obvious choice for the experiment that would become Nike Sportswear. Raiding the All Conditions Gear (ACG) innovation cache, they found fabrics, laminates and bonding methods that could brave nasty weather but still look fresh. The first letterman’s jacket was for an imaginary team called the Dunk High Destroyers. Limited numbers were produced. The next version got even more technical, but the Destroyer name stuck. The laser-cut, waterproof, bonded zipper became a signature feature of those early hybrids, encapsulating what you often couldn’t see on the products: futuristic functionality that never detracts from a timeless aesthetic.

Having already seen various promo gigs for the opening of Screen Gems’ upcoming film, Armored, starring the likes of Jean Reno, Laurence Fishburne and Matt Dillon, Supra introduce a new pair of its Vaider sneaker featuring inspiration from Armored. The sneaker’s most eye-catching detail is its use of carbon fiber style uppers with 3M elements and use of dark red paneling. Only 30 pairs were produced, made for the Armored crew, although one can always hope for a full release from Supra.

It's no secret that the Internet is hurting rappers. Hurting their record sales. Hurting their ability to control narrative. And, perhaps most crucially, hurting their ability to self-edit. Flip cam freestyles, track-a-day mixtapes, local radio interviews delivered worldwide. Reining it in has never been more difficult. To his credit, Wale has appeared to be in clear control of his output. In the space of three years he's released three proper mixtapes: 2007's giddy grab bag 100 Miles & Running, 2008's triumphant and savvy The Mixtape About Nothing, and this year's modest Back to the Feature. But even that tempered rollout may have been too much. Wale's proper solo debut, Attention Deficit, feels like a mishmash of those three tapes, flashing greatness but almost never transcending, and always sounding effortful. Has he said too much already?

The Air Jordan 2010 will release Saturday, February 13, 2010 for $170.

I wonder does the government have clonker a program for the PS3, I want this new slim PS3.

The slim will come with a 120GB drive, and will be 32% smaller and 36% lighter than the standard PlayStation 3, as well as using 34% less power. The $300 price will apply to all PlayStation 3s starting tomorrow. The Slim will be available everywhere by the first week of September.

The 80GB PS3 (current model) will be discounted to $300, whereas the 160GB PS3 will be $400. There will be a new PS3 logo as well as modifications to the official name from PLAYSTATION 3 to PlayStation 3 as to not be shouting all the time. It’ll also have a BRAVIA Sync feature that’ll allow you to control the PS3’s XMB with your Sony TV remote as long as they’re connected via HDMI. And the TV will automatically turn off the PS3 when the TV goes off.

Not only on top of the sneaker game in 1989 with the Air Jordan 4, Nike created some of the most saught after vintage sportswear pieces. The perfect accessory to Money’s shoes was the matching warm up jacket. With large “Flight” script, it was clear who you were representing.

Jordan Brand has been reaching into the vault for sneakers, but reaches back to bring back this jacket. Though made to match the current run of Air Jordan Fusion 4’s, I am sure many of us have a few pairs of retro Jordan 4’s that would hook well with too. Currently the black jacket is available now at Seattle’s RPS, but keep an eye out other makes made to match all of the other AJ(F) 4’s with a tag price of $110.

As an early adapter of SB's I was about to be through with them. But these really inspire me to continue to hunt these joints down. Anyways the colorway is very autumnal with a brown wing, black leather toe box and red accents to complete. Perhaps the most striking feature of this release however, are the rough suede grass-green side-panels and speckled ankle parts.
